5/30/07-A bill awaiting assignment to committee in the Senate would make it illegal to type, read or send text messages while at the wheel.
Sponsored by Sen. Joseph Coniglio, D-Paramus, S2764 would allow police to pull over drivers solely for violating the rule. Offenders would face fines up to $250.
