4/24/07-The Senate Taxation Committee approved a bill that would increase vehicle registration fees paid by drivers through a reduction in depreciation allowances, a $20 increase in the fee for driver's licenses, and putting sales taxes from motor vehicle sales and repairs to highways instead of the general fund.
The committee removed a provision from the bill that would have increased the state's per-gallon tax on diesel and gasoline by 6 cents during the next two years.
SB324 has been forwarded to the Senate Finance Committee. For bill status, call (775) 684-6800.

4/17/07-The Senate Taxation Committee approved a bill that would generate revenue for transportation projects.

Sponsored by Sen. Mike McGinness, R-Fallon, SB324 would increase the per-gallon tax on diesel and gasoline by 3 cents during the next two years.
