OOIDA Information Update - Oklahoma Members
February 9, 2007
His bill, HB2132, would slow trucks from 70 mph to 55 mph on the state's interstate highways through urban areas. All other vehicles would be allowed to continue to travel at the current 70 mph speed limit.
At this time the bill is awaiting assignment to committee. Please take the time to contact your state representative and let him or her know how important this issue is. Lawmakers need to know that split speed limits will make highways less safe by causing cars and trucks to be in constant conflict.
To e-mail your state representative, visit okhouse.gov/Members/MemberListing.aspx. If you need to know who your lawmakers are, visit www.vote-smart.org/index.htm and type in your ZIP code. Then click on your representative's name and it will take you to their home page where you can then e-mail your comments.
You can also call the OOIDA Membership Department at 1-800-444-5791 and they can look up the contact information for you.
