5/24/07-A bill has died that would have required drivers in the state to keep their hands off the phone.
HB2482 would have prohibited hand-held cell phone use while driving. Talking on a phone equipped with a “hands-free” device would still have been permitted.
Violators would have faced up to $90 fines. The bill would have exempted emergency calls.
