12/18/07-The House has put on hold until next year consideration of a bill that would allow the state to set up a traffic tip phone line for truckers and other drivers.
Sponsored by Rep. Joseph Markosek, D-Allegheny, HB885 remained in the House Appropriations Committee when lawmakers started wrapping up the 2007 regular session. It can be brought back for consideration there during the session that begins Jan. 1.
The bill is intended to help travelers avoid congested roads and travel safer by dialing 5-1-1 to hear information on roadways.
