6/15/07-A bill died in the Senate that would have imposed restrictions on the use of red light cameras.
Sponsored by Sen. Tim Burchett, R-Knoxville, SB666 would have required that intersections with cameras have yellow-light time of at least five seconds. State law now mandates a minimum of three seconds.
The bill also would have prohibited cities from sharing revenues for traffic fines with camera vendors.
