3/28/07-Gov. Tim Kaine has signed a bill into law that is intended to target alcohol-related reckless drivers. The new rule takes effect July 1.
The new law, HB1708, requires those who had their driver's license suspended for reckless driving for alcohol-related or drug-related reasons to complete an alcohol safety action program before they could have their licenses reinstated.

Sponsored by Delegate Scott Lingamfelter, R-Woodbridge, HB1708 now heads to Gov. Tim Kaine's desk. The House already approved it.
The bill would require those who had their driver's license suspended for reckless driving for alcohol-related or drug-related reasons to complete an alcohol safety action program before they could have their licenses reinstated.
