1/17/07-The House Transportation Committee voted 19-3 to reject a bill that would have imposed certain conditions on rate increases and use of tolls on the Dulles Toll Road.
Sponsored by Delegate Robert Marshall, R-Prince William, HB1749 would have required the Commonwealth Transportation Board to hold any hearings on proposed toll increases within Fairfax and Loudoun counties. Residents would have been given 30 days notice of such hearings.
It also would have required that at least 50 percent of surplus net revenues of the Dulles Toll Road be dedicated to road and interchange improvements on the route and access roads.
