6/4/07-A bill has died in the Senate that would have allowed for primary enforcement of the state’s seat belt law.
Currently, police in the state can issue seat-belt citations to drivers only after stopping a vehicle for another traffic violation, such as speeding.
Sen. Claire Ayer, D-Weybridge, S19 permitted police to pull over drivers not buckled up.
