3/2/07-Gov. Dave Freudenthal signed a bill into law Feb. 28 to toughen the state's open container law. The new rule takes effect July 1.
Wyoming law now bars drivers from having an open container of alcohol, but passengers 21 years of age or older are not.
The new law, previously SF33, bans consumption and possession of open containers of alcohol in vehicles traveling highways in the state.
Open containers in RVs are required to be locked up in compartments. Exceptions will be made for passengers in buses and limousines.
