6/2/08-A bill has died that was intended to help replace bad bridges throughout the state.
Sponsored by Rep. Mike Hill, R-Columbiana, HB466 remained in the House Government Appropriations Committee when the regular session ended, effectively killing it for the year.
The bill would have allotted a $275 million bond issue for structurally deficient county bridges. The funding would have gone for fixing 1,576 bridges with low sufficiency ratings.
The Senate version – SB357 – also died.
