6/2/08-A bill has died that sought to allow county commissions to raise the fuel tax by as much as 6 cents per gallon. Revenue from the tax increase would have been earmarked for roads and bridges in the county.
Sponsored by Rep. Mac Gipson, R-Prattville, HB470 remained in the House Government Appropriations Committee when the regular session ended, effectively killing it for the year.
