7/1/08-A bill has died that would have put in place a new exception to the state’s weapons misconduct law.
Sponsored by Rep. Barbara McGuire, D-Kearny, HB2788 would have allowed people to put guns in closed pursues in vehicles.
The rule would have applied to people with or without concealed carry permits.
Arizona law already lets people without concealed carry permits to have guns in cases, holsters or luggage in vehicles. Weapons also are allowed in glove boxes, map pockets and elsewhere.
4/24/08-The House voted 51-5 to advance a bill to the Senate that would put in place a new exception to the state’s weapons misconduct law.
