3/26/08-The Senate voted 17-13 to kill a bill that would have allowed the Arizona Department of Transportation to enter into public-private partnerships.
Sponsored by Sen. Pamela Gorman, R-Anthem, SB1498 sought to permit ADOT to partner with private groups for the construction, financing and operation of state toll roads and other roadway projects.
2/28/08-A bill that appeared to be dead now is advancing in the Senate.
The Senate Transportation Committee voted Feb. 26 to approve a bill on a 4-1 vote that would allow the Arizona Department of Transportation to enter into public-private partnerships.
Sponsored by Sen. Pamela Gorman, R-Anthem, SB1498 would permit ADOT to partner with private groups for the construction, financing and operation of state toll roads and other roadway projects.

2/20/08-A bill failed to gain passage in the Senate Transportation Committee that would have allowed the Arizona Department of Transportation to enter into public-private partnerships.
Sponsored by Sen. Pamela Gorman, R-Anthem, SB1498 died on a 2-2 vote in committee, effectively killing it. The bill sought to permit ADOT to partner with private groups for the construction, financing and operation of state toll roads and other roadway projects.
