5/1/08-A bill has died that sought to allow private construction of new lanes on existing freeways.
Sponsored by Sen. Pamela Gorman, R-Anthem, SB1503 would have authorized construction of lanes by July 2009.

2/20/08-The Senate Transportation Committee voted 4-1 to approve a bill that would allow private construction of new lanes on existing freeways. It is awaiting further consideration in the Senate Rules Committee.
Sponsored by Sen. Pamela Gorman, R-Anthem, SB1503 would authorize construction of lanes by July 2009.
