OOIDA Information Update – Arizona members
November 3, 2008

Arizona truckers have an opportunity to add their input on the future of transportation in different regions of the state.

Arizona Department of Transportation officials will present possible scenarios for the next few decades of transportation needs and funding during community workshops in November. Emphasis will be on long-range transportation needs from 2030 through 2050.

Public input is expected to be incorporated into a final report to be delivered to the governor and Arizona Legislature at a future date. Officials say that planning goals include safe and efficient mobility, sustainable urban development, energy independence, a reduction in greenhouse gas production, and an improved quality of life.

Workshops will consist of presentations by ADOT officials and opportunities for the public to speak and file comments. Click here to see the workshop schedule and other information about the study. Click here if you wish to submit a comment online.
