11/21/08-The Los Angeles Times reported that some lawmakers are proposing to triple car and truck license fees to make up for a state budget shortfall expected to be $28 billion during the next year and a half.
The increase for a $25,000 vehicle would be $336. The higher fees would generate an estimated $6 billion a year.
It is not clear whether Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger would support the plan.
