3/7/08-The House Transportation and Energy Committee voted 10-2 to approve a bill that would eliminate requirements for a private toll road company to send notice of its intent to construct a toll project to the county clerk and recorder of each county where a project is located to reduce the effect on real property within a three-mile corridor.
Sponsored by Rep. Marsha Looper, D-Calhan, HB1007 would require the company to send notice to each municipal, county or regional planning commission responsible for any planning in any part of the three-mile corridor.
The measure also would require each commission receiving notice to make the notice available for public viewing.
The bill has moved to the House floor.
