4/15/08-The Senate Appropriations Committee killed a bill that sought to amend the Colorado Constitution to set up a dedicated funding stream for transportation.
Sponsored by Senate Minority Leader Andy McElhany, R-Colorado Springs, the Senate concurrent resolution – SCR2 – would have required all sales tax paid on new vehicles or vehicle parts to be deposited into the state highway fund. It would not have increased tax rates.
4/3/08-The Senate Transportation Committee has referred a bill to the Senate Appropriations Committee that would amend the Colorado Constitution to set up a dedicated funding stream for transportation.
