5/2/08-A bill has died that sought to put passenger limits on young drivers.
Sponsored by Rep. Kelly Skidmore, D-Boca Raton, HB77 remained in committee when the regular session ended, effectively killing it for the year.
The bill would have prohibited drivers under age 18 from transporting more than three passengers under age 18 during the first six months after obtaining their licenses. Exceptions would have been made for relatives.
Violations would have been secondary offenses.
An identical Senate bill – S282 – met the same fate.
