4/22/08-Gov. Sonny Perdue signed a bill into law creating the Georgia Transportation Infrastructure Bank.
The new law, previously HB1019, will use federal highway dollars, state funds appropriated by the General Assembly, and other means to fund the state-run bank.
The State Road and Tollway Authority will govern the bank. Low-interest loans will be made to communities for constructing and improving roads and bridges.
