6/3/08-A bill is likely dead for the year that was intended to lower diesel emissions in the state.
Sponsored by rep. Karen May, D-Highwood, HB5772 called for putting in place a 1 percent surcharge onto the sale or lease of diesel vehicles weighing in excess of 14,000 pounds that don’t have 2007 engines.
The measure also sought to set up a program to register all diesel-powered vehicles – on-road and off-road.

4/4/08-A bill referred to the House Rules Committee is intended to lower diesel emissions in the state.
Sponsored by rep. Karen May, D-Highwood, HB5772 would put in place a 1 percent surcharge onto the sale or lease of diesel vehicles weighing in excess of 14,000 pounds that don’t have 2007 engines.
The measure also would set up a program to register all diesel-powered vehicles – on-road and off-road.
