7/14/08-Gov. Bobby Jindal has signed a bill into law that requires “hard copy” tickets be issued to truck drivers cited for moving violations on motor carrier safety inspections reports.
Previously HB1034, the new law takes effect Aug. 15.

6/23/08-A bill atop Gov. Bobby Jindal’s desk – HB1034 – would require “hard copy” tickets be issued to truck drivers cited for moving violations on motor carrier safety inspections reports.
The bill was amended on the Senate floor to eliminate a reference to the motor carrier’s U.S. Department of Transportation number.

4/17/08-A bill in the House Transportation, Highways and Public Works Committee would require “hard copy” tickets be issued to truck drivers cited for moving violations on motor carrier safety inspections reports attributed to the motor carrier’s U.S. Department of Transportation number or Interstates Commerce Commission number. Sponsored by Rep. Thomas McVea, R-St. Francisville, HB1034 would require tickets to be issued at the time of the violation.
