7/1/08-Gov. Bobby Jindal has signed a bill into law adopting federal rules on felonies committed by commercial driver’s licenses. It takes effect Aug. 15.
The new law, previously HB840, requires loss of driving privileges for truckers convicted of felonies punishable by at least one year in jail.

4/17/08-The House approved a bill that would adopt federal rules on felonies committed by commercial driver’s license holders. It now moves to the Senate.
