4/4/08-A bill has been withdrawn from consideration in the House that sought to authorize Prince George County and local police to adopt camera enforcement rules.
Montgomery County is the only place in the state that cameras are permitted. The enforcement tool can be used on streets in school zones or with speed limits of 35 mph or less.
HB1017 would have authorized identical rules in Prince George County.
Related efforts – HB1024 and HB1034 – met the same fate.
