3/10/08-A bill in the House Environmental Matters Committee includes a provision that would prohibit truck drivers who live in Washington County from parking their rigs at their residences.
HB1599 would make it illegal for a person to “park a commercial semitractor or a single-unit commercial truck more than 10,000 pounds in gross vehicle weight on a public road within a residential subdivision in the county …” Violators would face $500 fines.
Exceptions would be made for when the truck is loading or unloading passengers, merchandise or materials.
