12/31/08-A bill has died that was intended to further help protect consumers in the state from being gouged at the fuel pump.
Sponsored by Rep. Mary Valentine, D-Norton Shores, HB6249 would have broadened the ability of the attorney general and local prosecutors to investigate anti-competitive conduct by fuel retailers.
An identical bill – SB1505 – met the same fate.

9/23/08-The House approved a bill that is intended to further help protect consumers in the state from being gouged at the fuel pump. It now moves to the Senate.
Sponsored by Rep. Mary Valentine, D-Norton Shores, HB6249 would broaden the ability of the attorney general and local prosecutors to investigate anti-competitive conduct by fuel retailers.
The bill is in the Senate Judiciary Committee. For bill status, call (517) 373-0169.
