6/5/08-A bill has died that sought to allow the state to suspend business licenses for companies found to have “knowingly” employed, recruited, or hired illegal immigrants.
Sponsored by Rep. Will Kraus, R-Raytown, HB1381 remained in the House Special Committee on Immigration when the regular session ended.
The bill would have allowed suspensions to be lifted once the company proves it no longer is in violation of the rule. Subsequent offenses would have resulted in suspension of state and local business licenses for 10 days.
