6/5/08-A bill has died that was intended to help reduce idling.
Sponsored by Rep. Jay Wasson, R-Nixa, HB1699 remained in the House Special Committee on Job Creation and Economic Development when the regular session ended.
The bill sought to create a tax credit for installing idle reduction technology for the next two years. The credit would have been equal to 50 percent of the amount of purchase and installation on class 8 trucks – up to $3,500 per truck.
The state would have been authorized to issue up to $15 million in tax credits annually. No more than $30,000 million in tax credits could have been issued during the life of the program.
A similar Senate bill – SB811 – also died.
