5/20/08-SB841 has died. A separate bill – SB930 – has advanced to the governor that contains the provision to increase the maximum gross vehicle weight limit and axle weight limit for large trucks equipped with idle reduction technology.
4/1/08-The House Transportation Committee voted Tuesday, April 1, to approve a bill that is intended to reduce truck idling.
Sponsored by Sen. Bill Stouffer, R-Napton, SB841 would increase the maximum gross vehicle weight limit and axle weight limit for large trucks equipped with idle reduction technology. The bill also would authorize affected trucks to weigh up to an additional 400 pounds.
It now awaits clearance for consideration on the House floor. The Senate previously approved it by unanimous consent.

3/25/08-The Senate unanimously approved a bill that is intended to reduce truck idling. It now moves to the House.
