1/29/08-The House Public Works and Highways Committee voted 14-0 to kill a bill that would have required legislative approval for a change in highway tolls for the New Hampshire turnpike system. Lawmakers could have either increased or decreased rates.
Sponsored by Rep. Steve Vaillancourt, R-Manchester, HB1606 also would have required turnpike toll rates to return to the level that existed on Jan. 1, 2005.
