12/31/08-A bill has died that called for creating the alternative fuel incentive fund.
Sponsored by Assemblyman George Amedore, Rotterdam, A5798 remained in committee when the session ended.
The bill sought to promote the research, development and usage of alternative energy fuels, such as biodiesel.
Revenue from the fund would have been directed as follows: $30 million for research and development; $27 million for the New York Thruway Authority to create alternative fuel stations on the thruway; and $27 million for a cellulosic ethanol refinery.
Tax credits, grants, investments and other incentives would have been available for building alternative fueling stations and refineries.
