12/31/08-A bill has died in an Assembly committee that was intended to take garbage trucks off local roads. The Senate previously approved it.
Sponsored by Sen. John DeFrancisco, R-Syracuse, S6461 would have allowed the New York State Department of Transportation to establish routes for trucks carrying hazardous materials.

8/27/08-The Senate has approved a bill that is intended to take garbage trucks off local roads. It has moved to the Assembly.
Sponsored by Sen. John DeFrancisco, R-Syracuse, S6461 would allow the New York State Department of Transportation to establish routes for trucks carrying hazardous materials.
The bill is in the Assembly Transportation Committee.

5/13/08-The Senate Transportation Committee voted to approve a bill that is intended to take garbage trucks off local roads.
Sponsored by Sen. John DeFrancisco, R-Syracuse, S6461 would allow the New York State Department of Transportation to establish routes for trucks carrying hazardous materials.
The bill is awaiting consideration on the Assembly floor. If approved there, it would move back to the Senate for approval of changes before heading to the governor’s desk.
