12/3/08-A bill has died that sought to authorize the possible lease of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
Sponsored by Reps. Dwight Evans, D-Philadelphia, and Steven Cappelli, R-Lycoming, HB2593 remained in the House Transportation Committee.
The bill would have allowed private operators to take over control of the mainline of the turnpike and the Northeast Extension.
