Peterson, Thompson, Gabler, Local Business Leaders hold I-80 Rally in DuBois
DuBois, PA - Congressman John E. Peterson, R-Pleasantville, the leading force against the tolling of Interstate 80, will speak on Monday, October 27, regarding the possibility of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission resubmitting their application to the Federal Government to toll I-80.
While the Federal Highway Administration has rejected the Commonwealth's application - based upon the letter of the law - leaders in the State House of Representatives have indicated they plan to resubmit the application once a new President is elected. While Peterson is retiring at the end of this year, he remains committed to keeping I-80 toll free and will continue to advocate and support candidates for elected office that show real leadership and will be effective in keeping I-80 the freeway that it is today.
