4/21/08-A bill has died that sought to prohibit the Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority from charging tolls on the Mount Hope Bridge. The bridge connects Portsmouth and Bristol via state Route 114.
Sponsored by Rep. Raymond Gallison Jr., D-Bristol, HB7070 remained in committee at a deadline to advance, effectively killing it for the year.
The bill can be brought back for consideration during the 2009 regular session.
