OOIDA Call to Action - South Carolina members
December 2, 2008

As you know, yesterday (December 1) was the first day that Charleston, Savannah, Jacksonville and several other ports began requiring truckers to have a TWIC card to gain entry into port facilities.

We have received calls from truckers in South Carolina and elsewhere about problems they have had in obtaining TWIC cards as well as problems they had trying to enter ports yesterday.

If you or someone you know have experienced similar problems, please contact Angel Burnell or Denise Volmer at 1-800-444-5791 immediately as we are conveying these issues to lawmakers, port officials and the Transportation Security Administration.

Thank you for your help!
