4/18/08-A bill has died that would have authorized identification cards to be issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles only to people legally and permanently in the United States. Driver’s licenses would have been prohibited.
Sponsored by Rep. Thad Viers, R-Myrtle Beach, H4386 missed a deadline to advance, effectively killing it for the year.
A similar House bill – H4388 – met the same fate.
