3/19/08-A bill has died that sought to get tough with people who owe money to local governments. The full House refused to advance the measure, effectively killing it for the year.
Sponsored by Delegate Onzlee Ware, D-Roanoke, HB133 sought to prohibit the issuance or renewal of a driver’s license for anyone who owes fees or taxes to counties, cities or towns. Parking tickets would have been included.

1/31/08-The House Transportation Committee voted 21-1 to approve a bill that would get tough with people who owe money to local governments.
