2/22/08-A bill has died that would have repealed fees charged to “bad drivers” in the state.
Sponsored by Delegate Kristen Amundson, D-Mount Vernon, HB490 remained in the House Transportation Committee at the deadline to advance to the House floor, effectively killing it for the year.
The bill also would have increased the motor fuel tax rate by 1.5 cents per gallon from 17.5 cents to 19 cents. In addition, it would have refunded any abusive driver fees paid, with interest.
