2/22/08-A bill has died that was intended to reduce driver distractions.
Sponsored by Rep. Robert Mathieson, D-Virginia Beach, HB533 remained in the House Transportation Committee at the deadline to advance to the House floor, effectively killing it for the year.
The bill would have prohibited driving with an animal on the driver’s lap or interfering with the driver’s control of the vehicle.
