1/16/08-A bill in the Senate Finance Committee would repeal certain abusive driver fees.
Sponsored by Sen. Emmett Hanger Jr., R-Mount Solon, SB469 also would increase the state’s cent-per-gallon fuel tax from 17.5 cents to 19.5 cents – an increase of 2 cents.
Another provision in the bill would repeal the sales tax on charges for labor or services in vehicle repairs.
Abusive driver fees already paid would be refunded, with interest.
