3/28/08-A bill has died that sought to allow blood to be drawn from drivers involved in wrecks that result in injury or death.
Sponsored by Rep. John Overington, R-Berkeley, HB2427 remained in the House Roads and Transportation Committee at the deadline to advance, effectively killing it for the year.
The bill would have required mandatory blood tests if law enforcement has “reasonable grounds to suspect a driver” is under the influence or drugs and/or alcohol.
