5/6/09-A bill has died that sought to put passenger limits on young drivers.
Sponsored by Rep. Ari Porth, D-Coral Springs, HB139 prohibited drivers under age 18 from transporting more than one passenger during the first six months after obtaining their licenses. Exceptions would have been made for relatives and work. Violations would have been secondary offenses.

3/13/09-A bill in the Roads, Bridges & Ports Policy Committee would put passenger limits on young drivers.
Sponsored by Rep. Ari Porth, D-Coral Springs, HB139 would prohibit drivers under age 18 from transporting more than one passenger during the first six months after obtaining their licenses. Exceptions would be made for relatives and work. Violations would be secondary offenses.

12/30/08-Rep. Ari Porth, D-Coral Springs, has filed a bill for consideration that would put passenger limits on young drivers.
HB139 would prohibit drivers under age 18 from transporting more than one passenger during the first six months after obtaining their licenses. Exceptions would be made for relatives and work. Violations would be secondary offenses.
The bill can be considered during the session that begins in March.
