6/15/09-The House voted 37-22 to approve a bill that would start the process to establish bridge tolls on Interstate 5 between Portland and Vancouver. It now moves to Gov. Ted Kulongski’s desk. The Senate already approved it.
Sponsored by Sens. Rick Metzger, R-Hood River, and Bruce Starr, R-Hillsboro, SB580 would impose tolls by Jan. 1, 2011, to help pay for a new 12-lane Columbia River bridge along Interstate 5.
