12/9/09-Rep. Mike Vereb, R-Montgomery, has introduced a bill that would abolish the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and shift turnpike operations to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
HB2134 would put Pennsylvania Turnpike operations to a deputy secretary of toll administration within PennDOT. The position would require a candidate to have a civil engineering degree and at least 10 years experience on road maintenance and construction.
