7/2/09-Gov. Don Carcieri signed the $7.76 billion state budget for the fiscal year that began July 1.
HB5983 includes a 2-cent-per-gallon fuel tax increase. The boost from 31 cents per gallon to 33 cents will fund the state’s public transit agency. The new revenue is expected to approach nearly $9 million.

6/30/09-The Senate voted 34-2 to approve the $7.76 billion state budget for the fiscal year that begins July 1. It now moves to Gov. Don Carcieri. The House already approved it on a 69-5 vote.
HB5983 includes a 2-cent-per-gallon fuel tax increase. The boost from 31 cents per gallon to 33 cents would fund the state’s public transit agency. The new revenue is expected to approach nearly $9 million.
