10/1/09-A bill has died that sought to protect highway money.
Sponsored by Rep. Bill Harmon, D-Dunlap, HB1505 remained in the House Finance Ways and Means Committee.
The bill deleted the authority of the commissioner of finance and administration to transfer department of transportation funds and programs in the highway fund to the state general fund.
The Senate version – SB398 – met the same fate. Both bills can be brought back for consideration during the 2010 regular session.
