10/7/09-A bill that will have to wait until next year for further consideration would require English-only driver’s licensing.
Sponsored by Sen. Dewayne Bunch, R-Cleveland, SB63, would mandate that all written driver’s exams to be offered solely in English.
At the end of the 2009 regular session, the bill remained in the Senate Transportation Committee. It can be brought back for consideration during the 2010 session.
The House version – HB262 – is in the House Public Safety Subcommittee.
