7/16/09-Gov. Rick Perry signed into law a bill that shifts from TXDOT to the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles duties that include motor vehicle titling, vehicle registration and oversight of trucking. It takes effect Sept. 1.
HB3097 requires the transfer of all powers, duties, obligations, rights of action, personnel, computers, other property and equipment, files, and related materials of the Motor Carrier Division (with the exception of the oversize/overweight) and Vehicle Titles and Registration Division.
